Nestled in the misty Colombian mountains, less than an hour away from Medellín lies Montebello - the miracle of the mountains! Here, you'll find lush terrain and cascading waters from the la Honda and la Miel rivers, not to mention Antioquia's oldest chapel!
Montebello is a proud agricultural hub, boasting ancestral crops like coffee, avocado, and hydrangeas, as well as more modern staples like beans and maize. This coffee comes from the Las Hamacas and Sabanitas estates, where the owners are dedicated to being environmental and socially responsible with zero synthetic chemicals used for pest control.
The wet milling process is traditional, and the beans get a long fermentation and a sun-dried finish in parabolic beds. It all contributes to the coffee's complexity, like its mineral-rich volcanic soils, high altitude, and the tropical air masses from the Caribbean.
We have been loving this coffee as espresso with sweet notes of White Chocolate, Mandarin and Summer Fruits.
